At this session, new volunteers will learn more about ASAP and our different volunteer opportunities, meet other new volunteers,and fill out paperwork needed to complete required clearances to work with youth. From October through February, ASAP runs the Philadelphia Scholastic Scrabble League (PSSL), the competitive arm of ASAP Scrabble for students grades 3rd-12th. Grand Prix Elementary School Tournament
The Grand Prix, a virtual chess competition, occurs between November 1st and December 18th. Chess players in grades K-12 will complete lessons and puzzles and participate in ASAP events to earn points. Grand Prix Free for All Tournament
Each Thursday until December 18th at 4:00 PM, ASAP Chess will be holding the Grand Prix Free for All Tournaments on ChessKid.com. Students in all clubs can earn points by participating in the Grand Prix Free for All Tournaments. ASAP Chess will distribute trophies to top teams and top players.
High School Grand Prix Match
The first High School Grand Prix Match is happening on Tuesday, November 24th! The High School Grand Prix match is for K-5 students to compete against other students. All new club leaders are required to attend a New Club Leader Scrabble training with ASAP Scrabble.
