This is a meeting for Drama Leaders and TAs participating in the 17/18 targeted model program. Attendees will evaluate this year’s targeted model an dget ready for moving into Festival season.

This year, ASAP Drama is piloting out a new curriculum titled In Search of the American Dream. Under this theme, students, K-12th, will read texts around 3 topics: Class, Immigration, and Gender. At the end, they will work to translate what they’ve learned into original devised pieces. Students will be asked to dig deep into what they see and experience on a day-to-day basis.  The texts and activities are meant to serve as springboards for discussion and encourage students to put themselves in the shoes of another. Bolstering trips to museums, work with articles and current events, specialty workshops, showcases, and more, the students will explore different points of view, look closely and personally at American social constructs, and explore how Philadelphia connects with how America accepts or rejects difference.
